My boudoir is my little palace of loveliness, a shrine to all things girly, floral and pink.
It’s where I store my clothes and ever expanding accessory collections, and I like to store all my pretties in an organised way. Just before Christmas I decided that I needed a blanket style box at the end of my bed to store some of the surplus cushions that I use with my different bed linen. I knew exactly what I wanted- a Lloyd Loom woven box-preferably in pink, but I was prepared to take any pastel.
Lloyd Loomis highly collectible painted furniture manufactured in England and was first produced in1917. It’s popularity peaked in the 1930’s, before the original factory was destroyed, in the Blitz during World War 2.
It looks similar to cane furniture but is actually made of craft paper twisted around metal wire. There are quite a lot of chairs around but over the years tables, trunks and bookshelves have become a little harder to find.
So I turned to my old pal ebay… and I won this gorgeous little treasure for $30.
My little box is in very good condition with original fabric to the top and she is painted the loveliest shimery gold on the inside.
She holds a plethora of bed goodies and is just the right height for sitting on the put to put on stockings and shoes.
Hope you like the pickies!
