I bought this pansy needlepiont bag a couple of weeks ago at one of my favourite thrift shops- I never leave empty handed, it always has a special something!
Isn’t she sweet!
I had spotted it in a glass case the week earlier but resisted its charms…. I occassionally go through boughts of self denial….very, very occassionally.
When she was still there the next week I just knew she had been waiting for me to take her home.
Judging by the inside finishings I think it was a handmade needlepoint project that was stitched onto to a bought frame- I’ve never seen that kind of rick rack on a commercial bag before;
and her pearl clasp is particularly nice;
Pansies are my favourite flower, especially the pink and violet coloured ones, I grow them in pots on my back porch every Autumn/Winter and I will be planting mine next week. I love their happy ‘faces’ and the rich velvety colours and texture.
It seemed fitting that I found her at just the right time of year.
