I have been showing you soooo many pictures of my daily outfits and my wardrobe over the last few weeks. I thought it fair that you get little peek at what is happening in my boudoir- aka what my bed is wearing.
First, let me give you a bit of background info…….I fell in love with this fabric called Cecilia Rose, and just had to have it;
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it but I knew I would find some special project. After some thought I decided to use some of it to freshen up my boudoir. I cut out and appilqued one of the rose bunches onto an old velvet cushion ( I had found it hiding in the dark depths of my cushion cupboard).
I purposely let the edges fray around the flowers so that the cushion had a faded, aged look. I wanted to make it look like it belonged in an old french house or maybe even a château;
When I finished all my handy work I discovered that it matched one of my (many) bedspreads perfectly;
They have become firm friends are now live harmoniously on my bed with my favourite pink jacquard quilt cover;
As a side note- I have decided to use the rest of the Cecilia fabric to make a new button detail lid for my pink Lloyd Loom blanket box bottyou can just see it in the bottom of the photo.
Although this will have to be a project for the second half of the year ….I’ll keep you posted!
