I was delightfully surprised by the appearance of a gorgeous La Belle Miette’s retro macaroon stall in Chadstone Shopping Centre.
It is what they term a “pop-up stall” and comes in the guise of a vintage cart that is reminiscent of one used by an old-fashioned ice cream vendor.
They package your selections in these pastel boxes, which I think are just as beautiful as the macaroons themselves.
They make all the standard flavours like Vanilla and Chocolate…but they also do some unusual flavours like Rose, Strawberry & Vanilla;
Earl Grey is one of my favourite teas…
Cherry Blossom and Sake has quite a delicate flavour;
A Moet & Chandon macaroon…what more can I say!
My favourite is their Pimms & Pomegranate which is both light and fruity…and yes I adore the classic summertime drink of Pimms and Lemonade!
I just adore these soft, fluffy treats and always try to pop into the their shop in
Hardware Lane when I visit town. I have a long-held dream to visit the macaroon counter at the world famous confectionery Ladurëe in Paris and it is one of the first places I want to visit when I go there.
Until I venture there the little grey marble counter of La Belle Miette will have to suffice… I am so glad it will be around the corner for next couple of months…although my waistline may suffer greatly as a consequence!
