Dear Friend,

I finished my Yellow Roses of Yester Year dress that I made as part of my Vogue Vintage Sewing series.

I wore it for the first time on Saturday night.

I love how the yellow roses look so golden in the late summer sun.

I was originally going to wear this dress with white shoes for day wear…but then I tried it with these bronze heels and decided it could easily be worn in the evening.

I went with a full circle skirt rather than the gored one that came with the pattern…and I’m so glad that I did…there is nothing like it for twirling.

Also making its debut was my original 1950’s white petticoat.

I simply adore the swish and puff of it…it feels like a grown up tutu.

I would love to find another, in pale pink!
