Pansies are one of my favourite flowers, I adore their soft richly textured petals-so reminiscent of velvet. The colours are always so rich like purple, maroon, mauve, gold, lilac…nearly every colour under the rainbow. They are such a happy flower…they have the most beautiful ‘faces’ in the centre of their blooms and always look like they are smiling.
When I found these velvet pansy clips at last year at Alannah Hill I squealed with delight.
I collect vintage millinery flowers which I wear as corsages and in my hair. Although these are new, they look quite like vintage millinery flowers, they are made of velvet with wonderful textures and colours…and even some imitation dew drops.
They look good individually and fabulous when worn as a pair. When I was looking for something to match my pansy dress they were the obvious choice.
This dress was a cheapy that I bought from the Dangerfield outlet last year. I wish I had bought it in another colour, as it is the perfect hot day dress. It is made of 100% cotton, which helps it breathe beautifully and it has the most flattering cut of any spaghetti strap dress I own.
I have worn this dress quite a bit over the last few weeks…and whilst I have enjoyed it…I can’t wait for the cooler weather to arrive so that I can pot up some real pansies.
