We have had a few nice days filled with sunshine…albeit a watery cool Autumny sunshine.

It was warm enough the other day to wear my 1950-60’s ‘Modern Lady’ dress for the first time.

It was too chilly to wear by itself…which is a shame because the detail work on the dress is so pretty- portrait collar, rosebuds on the bustline and delicate cap sleeve detail.

I think the portrait collar is what sold me on the dress.

It looks so dramatic from both the front and back.

026 I am a stickler for matching accessories and was so happy when I remembered that I had these earrings- just the right colour blue and pearl centred to match my cardi.

This cardigan is my first original 1950’s cashmere beaded cardigan purchase.

To go back with the chiffon overlay of the dress I had to wear these sheer pleated gloves…which just goes to show that you should buy every glove that takes your fancy (and is reasonably priced) because you never know when you are going to need THAT certain colour or THAT type of fabric to finish off an outfit.

The only thing missing from the ensemble is a pair of powder blue shoes.

P.S- Whilst on the subject of shoes..I have been admiring (and coveting) the amazing collection of Spring-o-lator shoes of the Finnish vintage fashionista Bubble for some time. I am currently scouring etsy and ebay for my own pair- in just the right colour and my size-fingers crossed!

.(If you’re a lover of fine vintage reader I highly recommend the whole Fintage website for many a drool worthy outfit).
